How to release employees through Connext
Our goal is to provide long term, talented offshore employees to support your business. Though that is the mission, clients have the need to release employees for a variety of reasons. In this article we walk through the different reasons for releasing employees and the process involved for each.
- Reason 1: releasing employees with no performance issues due to volume, change of direction, or other reason
- Can be done at any time with 30 day notice requirement.
- With no pattern of poor performance Connext has a legal obligation to give employees 30 days notice.
- Connext will speak with the employee and schedule the last day of work.
- Connext will determine if we want to keep the employee and send to other clients, or release them.
- Reason 2: releasing employees due to poor performance
- Can be done at any time, immediately or with client dictated notice period, as long as there is proper documentation.
- Local labor laws allow us to terminate employees as long as there is a record of employee performance issues. These issues need to be documented through Connext, primarily the Connext operations manager.
- To release an employee immediately, Connext operations manager and HR team must have sufficient performance documentation to provide to local labor authorities. If more documentation is needed, we will coordinate with the client to try provide.
- Documentation could include: email traffic, performance improvement plans, corrective action documents, or other documentation consistent with client specific performance documentation.
In either scenario, the Connext team will ultimately do what is most fair for the client and the employee. If there are any questions, please contact your Connext operations team directly.
